Watch the Honest Trailers - Superman Returns. The newest honest trailer from Screen Junkies is a follow up to their recent honest trailers for two movies: Batman and Superman the Movie. They roasted the two movies as part of the lead up to the theatrical release of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Screen Junkies fans voted on which of the two heroes to revisit in another honest trailer. Superman won, and thus we have this breakdown of the mopey (but perhaps somewhat unfairly bashed) Superman Returns.

Hey, remember when Superman flew around saving people? That’s the version Brandon Routh played back in 2006, although the moping and sadness were already creeping into the picture long before Man of Steel rebooted the series five other directors (Tim Burton, McG, Wolfgang Petersen, Brett Ratner, and George Miller) couldn’t get off the ground.

The honest trailer, while admitting maybe we were too hard on Superman Returns, does admit some of the weaknesses, like the movie’s slogging pace and its inability to decide if it’s a sequel, a remake, or a reboot. But, hey, at least we get to see James Marsden get cuckolded in yet another movie, and if you watch closely you may even spot Kevin Spacey wearing the wig that grew up to be Jesse Eisenberg.
