James Horner Dies in Plane Crash. If you haven't heard by now, I guess I'm the one who's gonna break it to you. Film composer James Horner died in a plane crash outside Santa Barbara on Monday. It's believed he was the pilot.


This is a huge loss for the film industry. Horner was one of Hollywood's most prolific composers. He scored over 150 films, including some of the biggest movies of all-time. Just check out this short list:
