Baseball Scores, Games, March 31 Opening Day 2011. The 2011 MLB season gets underway today with the first 6 match-ups of the season, beginning with the Detroit Tigers at the New York Yankees, and the Atlanta Braves at the Washington Nationals. Both games start at 1:05 p.m. EST.

The 2010 World Champion San Francisco Giants take on the LA Dodgers later tonight at 8:00 p.m. EST. ESPN will be carrying half of the six games, four of which are National League match-ups, in a triple-header.

There are six MLB match-ups scheduled for today, March 31, 2011, four in the National League and two in the American League. ESPN will carry half of the games in an Opening Day Triple-Header. Other games will be live streaming on MLB.tv.

All games will start in daylight except for the primetime match-up between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
